20111204 Venice-Bologna-Florence

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. - 1 John 4:9

SUN - We left San Marco for Piazza Roma via a Grand Canal Cruise on the vaporetta,

slightly different style and effect from Angelina Jolie's water taxi and speedboat in the movie, The Tourist,

or James Bond in Moonraker,

or Casino Royale.

After paying €204 for 3 nights of parking, we drove to Bologna. Weather was good.

Bologna is a quaint place for great food. One of the recommended place was Ristorante "De Nello", where many whose-who dine. But we were put off by the long queue, bad attitude and poor services (discrimination), and left. In the end, we had some penne bolognaise and lasagna at San Nicola's Pizzaria. Ethan had a great time watching the pizza man made pizza.

Of course he ate the pizza after that. We also had their special brochette, penne and tagaliatte al ragu, spaghetti bolognaise, lagsane, and my favourite creamy ravioli, etc.
After the sumptuous Bolognese lunch, we continued our journey to The Art Capital of Italy ... Florence - capital of the Tuscany region. Our hotel - Hotel Calzaiouli - was at the heart of Florence next to the Florence Duomo.
The rooms were great. We had gelato and coffee after checking in. After an evening walk at the centro, we headed back to our rooms for some hot soupy instant noodles, and played Uno as usual. The next two days in Florence is gonna be interesting, admiring masterpieces by great renaissance artists.
